Welcome to the first series of Weekend Warrior, a feature spot where I highlight courageous entrepreneurs who have scaled the wall of the health and nutrition industry, building business, products and empires that motivate and inspire people to live healthfully.
This weekend’s spotlight shines brightly Alex Glasscock, co-founder of The Ranch at Live Oak Malibu. A week long fitness and wellness immersion program, the Ranch offers people a chance to re-boot and revive their body, minds and spirits in a small social setting where you have access to tools, habits and social support. Commonly referred to by celebrities and major publications alike, this “luxury bootcamp” comprises of four to five hours of group hiking, core and ab work, weights, daily group yoga sessions, private afternoon massages Monday – Friday, a daily nap and more.
A former Rancher myself, Alex is a great role model and friend of mine, inspiring me to take charge of my life and pursue a career and lifestyle that focusses on healthy behavior and inspiring others to do the same. Before moving to LA, and starting a luxurious health retreat set three miles above the Pacific Ocean in the Santa Monica Mountains, he resided in Texas working in the commercial mortgage banking industry.
While at the Ranch, I fell in love with their energy bites, so I decided to recreate them at home with a recipe from my beloved #TIU team and Gimme Some Oven Blog. Check out some pictures of the gorgeous Ranch and make a batch of these delicious treats to fuel a healthy weekend hike or workout with friends and family.
If you’re ready to pound the dirt but can’t seem to round up a full week to do it, Alex created R 4.0, a 4-day jump start program at the Four Seasons in Westlake, CA.
Change is uncomfortable, but yields results. I challenge you to promote healthy change in YOUR life, and chase your passions every day.
