Allowing consistency to offer change instead of temporary, excessive or even expensive siloed efforts to drive change will not only give you the end result you are looking for but the peace of mind during your journey to get there. Slow down, stop watching for change every hour every day. Create the habits, be consistent and one day you’ll wake up look in the mirror and be in awe of what’s staring back at you. And I’m talking about the beautiful soul, bonus is the body love that comes with it!

Becoming a healthier version of yourself doesn’t have to be so damn hard. Get out of your own way, be kind to yourself, be patient and add in practices, methods or products to your life to help you along the way. Small changes yield big results over time. Anything worth having is worth the wait. Otherwise, random efforts are just moments in time that will frustrate you and stress you out when you realize that momentary effort results in momentary change. Here one minute gone the next.

Never enough avocado and mango in my life. Been loving this 🥑 2-ways lunch combo lately! I do collard wraps with mango avocado and shredded carrots and I bump up the nutrition with hemp seeds. I also spread some avo on sourdough.
It’s widely believed that limiting the number of ingredients or different foods in a meal can reduce bloating and increase digestion. Because all foods break down at different speeds you use up less energy this way. For example fruit can digest in 20 minutes and some proteins take 3-4 hours.

I love going to the farmers market because I find things I wouldn’t normally buy at the store ( think micro greens which are super high in nutrients and vitamins because they are so compact) and squash shaped like a pumpkin!
These purple potatoes have been on repeat over here, the color is so gorgeous and did you know only purple potatoes with purple skin can reduce inflammation?

1/2 lemon and warm warm water is my favorite way to set the tone for the day. It wakes up your system and is good for digestion, immune system, brain function, weight loss, heart health, balances your body’s pH and lots more.

In fact I challenge you find a reason NOT to do it!
This little lemon tool makes a huge difference for me. So much easier and less messy than squeezing by hand and you get way more juice.

Today on the blog (link in bio) is my fitness journey. I’m opening up about my health journey and why I started treehouse. I plan to do this in a few parts starting with exercise. We all have had struggles in life and what feels like “personal demons” that we need to overcome or fight through in order to achieve happiness and reach our true potential. These obstacles don’t make us weak, or less than - in fact, they are simply moments or periods of time in our lives that prove we are human. Being human is the most amazing gift on earth, but this beautiful life does come with pain and sadness and even struggle at times. It’s OK, I’ve come to believe it’s actually a gift. We all experience times of pain or struggle, but it’s in these moments that our character and our future is defined because it’s these moments that help us grow and give us clarity around what we value, why, our purpose and how we truly want to live our lives.

My purpose is to creat a lifestyle, an experience, for people to live healthier lives in a way that feels like a priority, even second nature and incorporates all the other wonderful parts of our lives that we enjoy. Community, relationships, self care, food, exercise, curiosity and education, sharing, products, services - all of it can and should work together in one beautiful experience that yields a life centered around health, wellness and vitality. One that doesn’t feel like a constant effort or burden but instead, simply feels like your daily life. One that is elevated and enriched, more true and more joyful, more purposeful and more alive.
I want to give you a beautiful, fun, chic and new type of social experience that is also healthy. One that simplifies the effort it requires to consistently focus on your health, the time and money spent on trying fads or testing brands and curates the information we are seeing on social media every day so we can know and understand the truth and science behind nutrition and wellness and build it into our lives in a way that feels balanced and lasting.

I created this atmosphere in my own life and this is how I overcame my health “demons” and struggles. Thank you 🙏

Reporting on my favorite salad dressing that I’m using on repeat this summer and it couldn’t be easier! I call it my gut booster!
Growing up my mom had salad at every dinner no matter what we were having. Every night my mom made a full dinner, my whole family would sit down together at the same time and talk. I have such fond memories of this time together and think it instilled a lot of key values - family, priorities, letting go of the job the outside world the stress, importance of traditions and showing up on time for the people we care about to name a few.
Sure, sometimes when you’re a hormonal 16 year old girl you think it’s unfair or “lame” but I couldn’t be more thankful that my parents made this ritual non-negotiable.
Recipe:
2 Tbs spicy brown mustard
1/4 cup Apple cider vinegar
Good size pinch of salt, garlic and Italian seasoning
Dash of maple syrup or liquid stevia

If it’s too thick for you add a splash of water. I also love dipping veggies in this yumminess! @bewelltreehouse .

I love a colorful meal. For dinner a raw salad doesn’t cut it for me most of the time. I love roasting a bunch of veggies and throwing it on top of a salad for the hot and cold duo. Iceberg and cabbage with roasted zucchini sweet potato onion and broccoli pictures here.

TIP! I use parchment paper and no oil to roast my veggies most of the time, the paper gets the veggies super crispy! I salt with Celtic salt after so it sticks to the veg Celtic salt has over 80 minerals compared to the 3 or 4 found in table salt! Time for a healthy swap? I’d say so .

My latest smoothie jam and the game changer is SPIRULINA! I originally saw this recipe on @melissawoodhealth and have since fallen in love with spirulina. You can get it in capsule form but I prefer adding the powder to my smoothie. I add one Teaspoon and love the dark green color of my smoothie because of it. I feel an immediate sense of vitality and awareness. Im full of energy and full for hours!

A little about Spirulina: 💎 it’s a Cyanobacteria that grows in both fresh and salt water - aka blue-green algae

It’s time for the weekend!! Healthy eating and exercise is so important BUT so is friends, laughter and relaxation. If we think about food as energy and medicine and our diet ( meaning what we eat not a weight loss program) as nourishment for our body and brain then we also need to think about how socializing and relationships fuel our heart and our happiness. Morning routines are key for me. You can create one no matter where you are - you don’t need to be at home and you don’t need to throw in the towel just because you’re traveling. In fact it’s a great opportunity to experience with new practices, products, food and drinks and find out you LOVE something and make it a regular back at home.

My Sweden routine and I’m loving it! 🍓wake up and think about three things I’m thankful for before reaching for my phone 🍓do my full face routine and use the cold jade roller I keep in my mini fridge to get the blood flowing for the day
🍓 head down to the cafe for a coffee sitting down IN THE MUG. This is key because typically my coffee is on the go even though and it’s one of my favorite parts of the day - why am I not taking the time to enjoy it?! Steam the milk (almond milk for me) is a game changer
🍓 while having my coffee I read my daily Inspiration from the app called “inspiration”. This is a religious app it’s reviews a bible passage every day but you don’t need to be religious to enjoy it. You can replace the word god with anything that holds meaning to you 🍓 enjoy fresh local berries while checking emails. 🍓write down the top three things I want to accomplish that day in priority order

From there day to day is different but these steps help ground me and put me in a good mood for the day.

Recently I’ve been really intrigued with the idea of plant based eating (thank you @melissawoodhealth ) Plant based nutrition has so many benefits including 🍓rich in fiber, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants
🍓can lower risk of heart disease, hypertension (high blood pressure) diabetes, colon and breast cancer and obesity
🍓improves digestion health
🍓reduces inflammation 🍓amazing for skin hair energy and a natural glow!

There is some opposition especially concerning lack of protein, omega 3 fatty acids and iron/B12. Getting as much of these from real foods such as beans, lentils, quinoa , nuts and seeds is an option but also supplements can be a great addition to your health routine.

Side note: plant based and vegan are not the same. Vegans eliminate all animal produces from their diet and generally all aspects of their lives - so no 🐓 AND 👢 - Whole plant based focuses on eating whole plant based foods and not just foods considered to be vegan.
I’m not sure I’m quite ready to go all in but simple tips to gain these benefits if you are interested include
🥦swap out dairy for nut or plant based mills and yogurts
🥦focus on adding in veggies to every meal instead of removing something 🥦 give meatless Monday’s a whirl
🥦reintroduce beans and whole grains (I promise they are are not the enemy)
